Explore Tanzania Camping Safari. During this 4-day camping safari, you will visit the Lake Manyara National Park, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, and the Serengeti National Park. While this safari has something for everybody – birds, the Big Five, and a crater filled with wild animals, it is also ideal for those with limited time.
Early morning departure from Arusha and drive to Lake Manyara Park for game viewing and photography; Lake Manyara is home to large numbers of flamingo, pelican, stork, and other different bird species and is therefore regarded as the birding paradise of Tanzania. Other animals easily spotted include hippos, which can be observed at close range during your boat ride. Giraffe, gazelle, warthog, and others can be seen browsing inside the park. If lucky, you might see the rare tree-climbing lion which also resides within this park.
Early breakfast followed by departure to the Great Serengeti arriving for lunch; lunch is followed by game viewing. Serengeti is home to Africa’s big five (elephant, rhino, lion, leopard & buffalo) and is also home to millions of other animals which include browsers, predators, reptiles, and birds. The annual wildebeest migration commences in June when over 1 million wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle head into the Masai Mara plains in search of better pasture. These animals are followed closely by the predators of the savannah (lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena, vultures, and others). Evening transfer back to accommodation for rest and dinner
Early breakfast followed by morning game drives within Serengeti to see the park one last time. Afterward, return to camp for hot lunch then check out and be driven to Ngorongoro Crater arriving in the evening for check-in and dinner at camp. Ngorongoro is rich and fertile with stunning views of the crater and lakes.
Breakfast followed by check out from camp with packed picnic lunch to eat during your 6 hours game viewing within crater floor. Descend to the crater to see the breathtaking huge caldera which is home to Tanzania’s only remaining black rhino population. Other animals which are easy to spot include hippo, elephant, gazelle antelope, flamingo, and other water birds. In the afternoon you will ascend back to the crater rim for transfer to Arusha to connect with your next onward flight to your next destination.
You bet they are. Tanzania is one of Africa’s most stable countries. You’ll be welcomed by its friendly people and always taken care of by attentive staff. After full days of wildlife viewing, rest up at handpicked camps and lodges, which offer authentic African charm and modern-day conveniences.
We provide free bottled water at all camps and during all wildlife-viewing drives. You can also purchase bottled water at all lodges.
There are more bugs in many places in the U.S. than you will encounter on safari! As in North America, deet-based repellents and citronelle-based products work well if you encounter mosquitoes or other small insects..
Northern Tanzania! Ngorongoro Crater, a World Heritage Site, has one of the greatest concentrations of wildlife in the world. The vast plains of Serengeti National Park also host a myriad of wildlife, especially during the wildebeest migration.!
Tanzania has the best year-round wildlife viewing, and we adjust our itineraries, departure dates, and accommodations based on wildlife migration patterns. In Tanzania, any time is a wonderful time to be on safari. Of course, there are seasonal variations, but you’ll always see a lot of animals.
The Great Migration is a year-round phenomenon where vast herds of mammals, mainly wildebeest, gazelle, and zebra, move around the Serengeti in search of food and water. The driving force of the migration is rain, making it difficult to predict.
Hakuna matata! No worries! Plenty of awe-inspiring moments present themselves whenever you travel in Tanzania. Even if you don’t happen to see the Great Migration, you’ll still see an abundance of wildlife.
